Our Fundamental Fear!
"For the thing I greatly feared has come upon
me, and what I dreaded has happened to me."
Job 3: 25
Psychologists believe the Fear of the Unknown (FOTU) may be the
fundamental fear underlying all anxiety, one fear that rules the rest.
It’s difficult to maintain normality when things hang in the balance—
while you’re waiting to see how an intense situation will turn out.
These are some of life’s hardest moments. A loved one in danger.
A spouse in the ICU. A son in rehab. A daughter missing curfew.
A business struggling to survive. What will happen?
Job said, “What I always feared has happened to me”
(Job 3: 25).
Job’s story was far from over. In Job 38, the Lord spoke to Job
out of a whirlwind, urging him to consider the power of Him who
made animals, who controls winds, who guides birds through
the pathless air, and who holds seas in His outstretched
hand.
The Master of the oceans, earth, and sky is greater,
stronger, and higher than anything and everything
that concerns us. Trust Him today!
"With the power of God within us,
we need never fear the powers
around us."
