The child of God has a much better timepiece—the perfect timing
of God for all the arrangements, circumstances, opportunities, and
trials of life. The Swedish hymnist Carolina Sandell wrote of this in
her great hymn, “Day by Day.”
She wrote, “Day by day and with each passing moment, strength
I find to meet my trials here; Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment,
I’ve no cause for worry or fear.” She went on to remind us: “Ev’ry day
the Lord himself is near me, with a special mercy for each hour.”
Each hour—moment by moment—our times are in His
hands! We have hope because we know that God shows
up at exactly the right moment.
