Prophecy Markers!
"And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you
do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until
the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts."
2 Peter 1: 19
To explain to young children how long it will be before Christmas,
parents may say: First, the weather begins to turn cooler. Then,
we
celebrate Thanksgiving. Then, we get a Christmas tree and decorate
the house. Then, we shop for presents and put them under the
tree.
And then, it will be Christmas Day.
While no one knows an exact date of Christ’s return
(Matthew 24:36), however, prophecy gives us sign
posts to inform our progress toward His appearing.
At this stage in God’s prophetic timetable, Christ’s appearing for
His Church (the Rapture of the Church) is the next event. Nothing
stands in the way of this happening; it could happen today!
But there are certain trends in the world which indicate that we're
drawing closer to that day: tumultuous geopolitical and economic
conditions, deteriorating moral standards, and spiritual confusion.
These increasing trends mean we're approaching Christ’s
return. Every believer must live with the
understanding
that today could be the day that we “see Him as He is”
(1 John 3: 2).
"We are not a post-war generation,
but a pre-peace generation. Jesus
is coming."
