Nine Character Traits!
Both the singers and the
players on instruments say,
“All my springs are in you.”
Psalm 87:7
Holy Trinity provides us with living waters
that can fill us to the brim. Jesus asked the
Father, and He sent the Spirit, which is like
a river flowing from within us (John 7:38).
We are called to be filled with the Spirit, so we
must yield all parts of our lives to Jesus
Christ
so He can live His life through us by His Spirit.
In doing so, we find the Spirit begins to develop
Christ’s nine basic character traits within us: love,
joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness, and
self-control
(Galatians 5:22-23).
A good prayer to offer today is the stanza in
Adelaide Pollard’s hymn, “Have Thine Own
Way, Lord.”
Pray it aloud and ask God to fulfill it: “Have Thine
own
way, Lord! Have Thine own way! Hold o’er my
being absolute sway. Fill with Thy Spirit till all shall
see Christ only, always, living in me!”
