Living And Powerful!
"For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper
than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division
of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a
discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
Hebrews 4: 12
We hear someone say about a book they have read:
“It totally changed my life!” The author of such a
book
may have hoped for a life-changing response from a
reader, but there is no guarantee that life change will
be the
result. Books are not alive; the same book may
change one person’s life while having no impact on
another person.
There is one book, however, that is different
from all the rest. Because the Bible is the Word
of God, it is “living and powerful” and is able to
impact us at the deepest levels.
God’s Word stands in judgment over our most
secret “thoughts and intents.” God’s Word will
always accomplish the purpose for which God
sends it (Isaiah 55:10-11).
Psalm 107:20 says, “God sent His word and
healed them, and
delivered them from their
destructions.” God speaks with purpose,
and His purpose is always accomplished.
Read the Bible with the expectation that
God is using His words
to accomplish
His purposes in your life.
