Currency Of The Kingdom!
"But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God
meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is
this day, to save many people alive."
Genesis 50: 20
Just as money is the currency of the economic kingdom,
honesty is the currency of the spiritual kingdom. When
someone uses counterfeit money to conduct business,
the transaction is fraudulent. When someone is less
than honest spiritually, it corrupts the relationship.
After Jacob died, Joseph’s brothers feared he might
retaliate against them for what they had done to him.
Joseph didn’t retaliate, but he did have an honest
conversation with his
brothers.
He said that what they had done to him was evil but
God used it for a good purpose—bring Jacob’s family
to Egypt where Joseph could provide for them during
the famine.
Joseph forgave his brothers, but their relationship
could only be restored on the basis of truth. There
was no glossing over what the brothers had
done,
no burying of past facts.
When restoring a relationship that has been damaged,
make sure that truth and honesty are the mediums of
exchange.
"For the Christian, honesty
is not
the best policy, it is the only one."
John Blanchard
