Always Start With God!
"No man shall be able to stand before you all the
days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will
be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you."
Joshua 1:5
Beginnings are watershed moments: the beginning of a new
career, life in a new city, starting college—even the beginning
of a new day, hour, or minute. Every new beginning is a step
of faith because we do not know
what events will transpire.
There could be trials and there could be triumphs. But there
is one thing we do know: In Christ, God is with us always.
Some beginnings are bigger than others. When Joshua took
over the leadership of Israel from Moses, the challenge was
huge: Guide a couple million souls to the Promised Land of
Canaan, get all settled in their apportioned areas, and keep
the peace while worshiping God faithfully. On the cusp of all
this great adventure, God made Joshua a promise: “As I
was
with Moses, so I will be with you.” And to confirm: “I will not
leave you nor forsake you.”
That is the promise of Immanuel: “God with us”
(Matthew 1:23).
Whatever you begin today, God is with you.
