Your Swan Song!
"He also brought me out of a horrible pit….
He has put a new song in my mouth."
Psalm 40: 2-3
Rescuers in Neath, England, found a
beautiful swan in a graveyard near a church.
Inspector Nic de Celis said that, “This poor young swan was a
little disoriented after becoming trapped in a busy churchyard,
surrounded by a high fence and many graves. Fortunately, the
swan wasn’t injured, and I was able to safely return the bird to
the nearby canal where he joined a sibling.”
Millions of people are trapped by their fear of death, surrounded
by fences they can’t climb, feeling disoriented. But the Lord Jesus
comes to our rescue, frees us from the graveyard, and brings joy
and happiness into our lives.
There’s happiness the world knows nothing about. It’s found
in the open tomb of Jesus, the open arms of grace, and the
open pages of Scripture. That’s something to sing
about!
The psalmist said, “He put a new song in my mouth, a
hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the
Lord and put their trust in him” (Psalm 40:3, NIV).
"You may very well weary of the monotony of any human
voice, but you can never be tired of the many-stringed harp
which is to be found in that one name, the name of Jesus!"
Charles H. Spurgeon
